Having a Blog along with a Website will help you to get organic traffic via Search engines and you can use your article to get an extra edge on social media sites. If you want to know how to add a blog to your website with ease this article is for you.

If you have created your website in WordPress then it’s Perfect because the steps are pretty simple.

Type a name for the page in the text box toward the top of the page.

For example, because this will be the main page for your blog, enter Blog for the name. This automatically sets the page slug to /blog. You leave the text box blank here because you don’t want to display any page content on your blog and it will act as a feed for your posts.

Fig (c) Publish the Page

Now the page is created and save in your database, publish it to your WordPress site to make it go live. You have a blank page that redirects to http://yourdomain.com/blog. Next, you need to assign the page you just created as your Blog page.

At the  Dashboard, you’ll see different options you can select in WordPress.  Go to Settings > Reading. The Reading Settings page opens.

Click on A static page, and then select Blog under the drop-down menu for the Posts page. This is important. This step determines where your blog feed appears. Make sure to select “Blog” under the drop-down menu for “Posts page” and not “Homepage” — unless of course, you want your blog to be the landing page of your business website.

In the Blog Pages Show at Most section, type the number of posts you want to display in the Posts text box.

This setting ensures the number of posts you want to appear on that page at any time. If you enter 10, the Blog page shows the last ten posts you’ve made to your blog. Enter the number of posts you would like to appear based on your preference.

The options you just set are saved, and your blog is now located at http://yourdomain.com/blog (where yourdomain.com is your actual domain name).

You can add a link to your blog in the navigation menu by adding it to your custom menu and now you’re ready to blog!

By default, WordPress automatically looks for a template in your WordPress theme to display posts on a separate blog page.

Now, if you don’t like how your theme handles your blog page, then you can change that using some extra tools and without writing any code.

First, you will need to install and activate the K2 Blocks.  K2 Blocks is an add-on plugin for Gutenberg and enables you to enhance your page’s look and feel. You can simply point and click at any widget and start editing it.
